William Anderson

William Anderson is Managing Director of The TeamWorks, a highly interactive training and leadership development company in the UK. He is a high performance coach for leaders, a trainer and a speaker, and he describes his role as chief agitator and creative director: supporting his team to design invigorating learning experiences. William and Julia Feng are collaborators; Julia has delivered training for The TeamWorks' clients in China.

William started his first company at the age of 15, while still at school, and has since run or set up seven companies. His first big venture brought a new idea to consumer brands in the UK: reaching families through the classroom with materials built to real educational standards, developed with a network of teachers. He set up The TeamWorks in 2005.

On The Adaptive Edge, William told the story of the moment that venture nearly failed, when he had to decide whether to back it or sack it, and how accepting an investor and letting go of control led to 15 healthy years. He talked about seeing every challenge as a sphere with many doors, about inviting his team to challenge his ideas, and about leadership as helping others grow: finding the sparkle in each person and rising together.
